We are delighted to be celebrating the 22nd World Book Day (7th March) in Powerstown E.T.N.S. with a series of in-school events 4th – 8th March 2019. The main aim is to encourage children to explore the pleasure of books and reading. We kicked things off with some shared reading in our assembly families this morning.
Along with various in class activities, we are holding the following events in school during the week that we would love your support in:
With Eid fast approaching we have opened our celebration space in the Kamilah Room. If you would like to help decorate this space to be used as part of our Official Opening celebration, please pop along to the school anytime before Friday. We have a few decorations but please bring along anything you think might add to the space. Thanks!
HB’s Ice-cream fun day at Powerstown ETNS, June 1st, 2018
It’s that time of year again - Powerstown ETNS will host our HB Ice Cream Fun day in aide of Down Syndrome Ireland!
On June 1st, each class will be getting their own delicious ice-cream to enjoy! We are asking all the boys and girls to donate €2 for this brilliant cause, Down Syndrome Ireland.
Down Syndrome Ireland is an organisation that is working to provide an Irish society where people with Down Syndrome have the same basic human rights to healthcare, education, employment opportunities and decision making as all other citizens. Please support this great cause!
It's that time of year again when we celebrate the wonderful cultural diversity of our school community. The children are all hard at work researching and exploring countries and cultures around the world. So we are all very excited to invite you along to see their work on Thursday 24th May!

We got to plant some trees for Tree Week
We also had a visitor named Angie who came in to speak to us about trees. We went outside to the forest school to feed the birds and we even got to make our own pencils!
This week is scoot to school week. National SOW Day (Scoot on Wednesdays) will be held on Wednesday 14th March. By participating in National Scoot to School Week / SOW Day you will be showing your support for a greener, healthier environment.
Please scoot to school this Wednesday and we may be in with a chance to win scooter parking for our school.

Well done to all of the children who took part in our school Science Fair last week, all children (and parents!) made a huge effort with their projects! Lots of experimenting and learning going on!
"Seeing as we're all such great scientists in PETNS we are going to be running our annual science fair again this year! The date of science fair is Friday the 9th of March and all finished projects are to be brought in on Thursday the 8th at the latest! It's a great chance to show off your budding science skills and to showcase your knowledge! Parents are invited and encouraged to help children in their work!
